Dr. James Chang, M.D., NJ Pain Management Dr. James Chang, M.D. is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), a medical specialty also known as Physiatry. Dr. Chang is deeply committed to Monmouth Pain’s mission of providing healthy, conservative plans of pain management. With the inclusion of Dr. Chang in our Red Bank office, we are able to offer a wide variety of interventional pain management techniques, many of which make it possible for patients to rehabilitate while avoiding unnecessary surgeries or excessive painkiller use. Dr. Chang is an essential component in our dedication to providing the very best in pain management in New Jersey. Education and Credentials Dr. Chang earned a Bachelor of Science from Yale University in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. He went on to complete medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey—Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (UMDNJ). This was followed by an internship in Internal Medicine at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ and then a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York University’s Rusk Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine. Finally, Dr. Chang returned to UMDNJ for fellowship training in musculoskeletal physiatry at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. He is licensed to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey. Dr. Chang is an avid learner and continues to attend courses and workshops to remain at the cutting edge of pain management and physiatry. He is scheduled to present his research in spinal injections in August of 2011 at the International Spinal Injectionist Society’s annual scientific meeting. In his spare time, Dr. Chang enjoys watching baseball and playing with his dog. |
