Why are some pain management/rehabilitation facilities better than others?
Why do some patients seem to recover faster, while others languish for years with chronic pain, low back pain, migraine, fibromyalgia, etc.?
Our New Jersey pain management office has incorporated the very best practitioners and techniques in medical care, physical therapy, chiropractic, and acupuncture. But there’s even more happening here at our rehabilitation facility—and it’s based on our deep understanding of how intention and attitude can completely alter pain management outcomes.
Let’s discuss how this works.
At some point or another, most of us have experienced a situation in which positive feelings and expectations met with positive results. Conversely, I’m sure we’ve all had moments of negativity that put us squarely on the path to an unpleasant outcome.
The concepts of ‘positive thinking’ and ‘the law of attraction’ are becoming increasingly mainstream, and for good reason: these ideas can have powerful effects. When it comes to the pain management and rehabilitation process (as with pretty much any other effort in life) the degree of success is often based on your intentions.
By that same token, your practitioner, whether he or she is a medical doctor, physical therapist, chiropractic doctor, or acupuncturist, must also work with the right attitude, positive energy, and correct intentions; this is something we are passionate about at Monmouth Pain and Rehabilitation.
But why? Is there a scientific basis for how this works?
Absolutely. Remember when you learned Einstein’s famous equation: E=MC^2? This scientific equation demonstrates that matter and energy are one and the same; all that exists is energy.
We know that everything is made up of atoms; atoms themselves are composed of even smaller particles. We’re inclined to think of atoms as stable things—after all, the chair you are sitting on is not moving, is it? However, atoms are constantly vibrating and never stop moving. They interact with their surroundings by staying in motion and exchanging information and energy with each other.
Everything you perceive is composed of vibrating energy, including your house, your car, even the people around you. In a way, the world exists as you see it because you believe it does. Isn’t it possible, then, to change the physical world with just your thoughts?
At the lowest frequency of vibration, objects appear as separate masses. The atoms that make up your chair, for example, are vibrating at a lower frequency than the atoms that compose water. Actually, water is the perfect example. Ice has the lowest vibration frequency whereas steam has a much higher frequency.
At even higher frequencies, everything is interconnected as subatomic particles cease to be individual parts and form one interconnected energy field. Your thoughts are a part of this universal energy field.
Can you see how this works?
It’s interesting for me to watch as science turns full circle and merges the spiritual and emotional with measurable scientific concepts. I think that pain management (and healthcare in general) is heading in a limitless direction. To be sure, I’m seeing the results of this every day at Monmouth Pain and Rehab through my own work.
In his book, The Biology of Belief, Bruce Lipton, PhD demonstrates the findings of his research on this subject. He found that our genes and DNA do not control our biology. Instead, signals from outside the body’s cells—including the messages emanating from our positive and negative thoughts—control DNA. If we train ourselves to think differently, we can actually change how our bodies work.
