16 Years of Commitment to Care at Monmouth Pain and Rehabilitation

I cannot believe I am entering my 16th year of practice at this exact same location here at 7 Globe Court in Red Bank!  Yes, I hung my shingle in 1998 and started with one 8’x10’ ft. room to perform my chiropractic exams and treatments and now we are almost 5,000 square feet of chiropractic, acupuncture, interventional pain management, physical therapy, nutrition/weight loss and Power Plate Fitness.  Wow.  Really?  Very aware of where I came from, I guess it’s fair to call myself an overachiever with a touch of masochistic tendencies.

Now Monmouth Pain and Rehabilitation has grown to be a unique center in both form and function.  Practitioners work together in a free flowing open treatment setting.  Communication is paramount.  It is not uncommon to be seen by 3 different doctors or licensed professionals of different specialties during a single hour long visit.  And walk out of the door after your visit with a huge smile because you feel so much better!

Being blessed (or cursed) with lots of energy and a short attention span, my idea for your visit is to honor every bit of you, your time, your mind, your body and your spirit.  What does this mean?  Let me give it to you from the perspective of our team and how we approach the care we render.

Our team consists of 20+ talented practitioners and supporting staff that are committed to using the latest techniques, skills and experience and combining it with great passion for helping others live better lives. Our entire team meets two times each day in the center of the facility to discuss each and every patient to be seen that day.  I have found this to be the most effective way, and really the only way to properly communicate among ourselves about how we are going to provide the best care possible.  A typical conversation may include how the patient has been progressing, how they are feeling, their likes and dislikes, what their goals are and how we can help them achieve those goals.

Sometimes it’s as simple as helping “Ginny” with her low back pain so she can take care of and enjoy her grandchildren that are coming into town this weekend.   Sometimes its about “Joe” who needs to work but cannot because his knee hurts too much to climb the ladder at work and what type of knee treatments we can collaboratively provide to get “Joe” up and down that ladder so he can provide for his family.

Like any biological organism, we are not perfect.  We make mistakes as individuals and as an organization every day.  But, we do our best.  We will not quit and we will not stop doing our best to improve our systems, our treatment and our ability to care for the people who put their trust in us.  There is a great deal of responsibility that comes in healthcare that we all take very seriously.  It is most evident to me each time a mother hands me her new born child to treat for torticollis (wry neck) or for a toddler with ear infections or the 4-year old with asthma.  I speak for everyone at Monmouth Pain and Rehabilitation when I say thank you for the opportunity to serve!
