Join our Monmouth Pain & Rehabilitation office and celebrate American Heart Month!

During February, most Americans see the human heart as a symbol of love. February is American Heart month. Not only during this month, but throughout the year it is important to learn your risks and stay “heart healthy” for yourself and your family!

Cardiovascular disease, CVD including heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure is the number one killer of women and men in the US. According to the CDC, Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of disability, preventing Americans from working and enjoying family activities. Cardiovascular disease costs the US over $300 billion each year, including the cost of health care services, medications and lost productivity.

Take Control of Cardiovascular Disease by controlling a number of risk factors including:

American Heart Month - Go Red • Diet
• Physical Activity
• Tobacco Use
• Obesity
• High Blood Pressure
• High Blood Cholesterol
• Diabetes

The CDC’s Top Recommendation is to work on a Plan for Prevention with your health care team. Also, it is important to monitor your blood pressure, eat a healthy diet, maintain a healthy weight, exercise regularly, avoid smoking and drinking excessively and manage your health conditions.

According to Go Read for Women Organization, Heart Disease and Stroke Kill 1 in 3 women, yet it’s 80% preventable!

Acupuncture can help treat symptoms including obesity, smoking, migraines and anxiety all contributing to better health and less risk for cardiovascular disease.

Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a specialty health field recognizing that the central nervous system, the brain and spinal cord control all of the body’s functions. Our chiropractic services will locate and eradicate insrusions in the nervous system caused by a misalignment of the sine which is also called a sublaxation.
