Pain management center offers a new way to look at the holiday shopping season with gift certificates for better health.
This past weekend was Fair Haven’s annual holiday tree and menorah lighting ceremony. The kids are really into this kind of thing, especially since Santa shows up at the end of the event (although, of course, there are always a couple of kids who are completely freaked out by the big man).
For adults, the stress of gift-giving can ruin this otherwise happy time of year pretty easily. Or rather, the stress of deciding which gifts to give and then having to navigate the labyrinthine mess of shopping centers can put a negative spin on the entire holiday season.
Why not think of something a little more creative this year? Or, more specifically, why not give a gift that is geared toward helping your loved ones long-term, as opposed to bringing only temporary, material enjoyment?
With this goal in mind, I’d like to remind everyone that Monmouth Pain and Rehabilitation Center offers gift certificates for acupuncture. For pain management in Fair Haven (or for stress relief, better immune health, etc.), acupuncture is an effective, non-invasive, and drug-free treatment that many people are curious about.
In fact, I would venture to say that I meet more people interested in trying acupuncture than people who actually take the time for themselves to experience it. Why not give your loved ones the chance to do something for themselves this holiday season?
Acupuncture is an ancient, Eastern medical practice that has become increasingly accepted in the Western medical world as evidence mounts of its effectiveness. That is, there is undeniable proof at this point that acupuncture can help with a number of issues, both physical and psychological. In fact, the World Health Organization has compiled a long and comprehensive list of conditions for which acupuncture has been shown to be successful in treating.
Let’s take a closer look at how acupuncture works:
Acupuncture for Pain Management in Fair Haven, NJ
When people are in pain—from headaches or neck and back problems, for example—acupuncture helps by stimulating the release of endorphins. Endorphins are naturally occurring chemicals that have a similar mechanism as the most common of prescription painkillers (opiates). Acupuncture also increases levels of serotonin, which can interrupt pain signals before they reach the brain (keep in mind that pain occurs in the brain, not at the source of injury or disorder).
Acupuncture for Anxiety, Stress Relief, and Depression
This release of endorphins and serotonin can also boost mood, lower heart rate, and relieve anxiety and depression. What’s even better is that this type of care is drug-free and has no side effects.
Acupuncture is also an effective preventive care mechanism. The stress of the holiday season can affect the immune system, while colder weather often means more time spent indoors—and more chance of catching colds and other respiratory infections from one another. Acupuncture seeks to restore and maintain the perfect harmony and balance of the body’s systems (or of the body’s Chi, it’s ‘life force’) to boost immune health.
