Our staff includes physicians who specialize in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; such specialists are experts in the resolution and rehabilitation of the conditions listed above. Additionally, our physicians offer a number of minimally invasive, interventional techniques, the majority of which are performed right in our pain management office. In many cases, these procedures allow patients to find pain relief without relying on drugs. These include:
• Epidural Steroid Injections: By injecting a long-lasting steroid in the epidural space, patients can find serious, localized relief from Lower Back Pain; Arthritis; Degenerative Disc Disease; Disc Injury; Leg Pain; Numbness and/or Tingling; and many other conditions.
• Joint Injections: Facet Joint Injections in the neck, upper back, or lower back (the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spines, respectively) can help relieve neck and back pain related to arthritis or mechanical problems. Sacroiliac Joint Injections are especially helpful for patients with lower back pain related to the sacroiliac joint. Image-guided Peripheral Joint Injections may be used for patients with tendonitis or arthritis affecting the shoulder, elbow, or knee joints.
• Viscosupplementation: For knee pain and osteoarthritis in the knees, viscosupplementation works by replacing lost fluid, thereby providing much-needed lubrication to allow the bones of the knee joint to move smoothly over each other and to provide better shock absorption.
