Physical Therapist Now Allowed to Use Digital Communications

Jul 14, 2020 | Physical Therapy

Telehealth

To our beloved MPR Community,

We are happy to announce that you can now obtain your rehabilitation services from the safety of your own home. Among our various evolving responses to COVID-19, we are working hand-in-hand with insurance providers who are now allowing physical therapists to provide “E-Visits”.

An “E-Visit” is defined as, “a patient-initiated, non-face-to-face interaction through digital communication, which requires clinical decision making, otherwise performed in the clinic.” This new practice will help both our patients and staff complete the goals of continuing to provide necessary care, and, doing our part to practice Social Distancing and “Flatten the Curve”.

Simply call MPR and schedule a phone consultation with your Physical Therapist. You can connect with your therapist by phone, or other accessible means of digital communication. There are many benefits an “E-Visit” can provide including advancing your exercise program, minimizing your pain, and improve your overall mobility without exposing yourself or others to COVID-19.

“E-Visits” can begin 7 days after your last treatment session in the clinic, or immediately if you have not visited us in an extended time period. While this may not seem ideal to some, we are here to guide you through the process. We are committed to doing whatever necessary to maintain your physical and emotional wellness as we navigate through these trying times. We thank you for your continued patronage and believe that this is the best way you can help us, help you.

Please contact our offices today with any questions or concerns. Over the phone, we will get you scheduled for your first E-Visit!

– Dr. Lindsay Peters, PT, DPT
